How to make the council outstanding

STAFF from Warrington Borough Council attended a series of workshops on how to make the organisation “outstanding” and the town one of the best in the UK.
Chief executive Diana Terris (pictured) told staff there needs to be significant change at the council.
The council recently launched its corporate plan for the next three years, which aims to have the town recognised as “one of the best places to live and work in the UK, where everyone enjoys an outstanding quality of life.”
Staff took part in workshops to share ideas on the future of the council.
Diana Terris said: “It was important for me to share with staff a clear vision of the organisation that we’re trying to create – one that is well-led, where our communities are proud of us, and our staff are proud to serve them.
“We have a very clear and ambitious plan for how we will achieve our vision, and I know that it will be difficult to achieve, and we will make mistakes along the way, but I am determined that we will learn from them and get even better still.”
Feedback from staff showed they enjoyed the interactive sessions and the opportunity to express their views on the future of the organisation.
Mrs Terris said: “Staff have really embraced our desire to work together as one team to become a truly outstanding organisation. I’m committed to that aim and I’m pleased to see that so many others are too. We are stepping out on a challenging and exciting journey.”
