All in a stew over flat fire!

FIRE crews broke into a smoke-filled flat at Warrington after reports that someone was trapped inside.
But the blaze at a flat in Poplars Avenue, Orford, involved only a pan of stew left on the cooker in the kitchen.
The occupier had gone out – and returned home just after firefighters had broken in through the front door.
A Fire Service spokesman said: “Our fire prevention officers are meeting the gentleman to offer advice on fire safety in the home.”
In a separate incident, a “serial bin arsonist” struck again at Greenings Court, off Battersby Lane, setting fire to two bins in a compound.
There was no damage other than to the bins.
Fire crews have been called to the scene on almost a weekly basis for some time as a result of the arsonist. Police are now keeping a close watch on the site.
