A LOCAL business networking group has chosen to support a Warrington charity.
The group BNI Vikings, who meet at the De Vere Daresbury Park Hotel, have chosen Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge as their charity of the year.
Group spokesperson Lloyd Ansermoz said: “It is important in the current economic climate to support local businesses as well as the local community. Warrington Grassroots helps us to do that. The scheme has already benefited over 60 organisations in the community, many of which have also helped our staff, their families and friends.”
Grassroots, administered by Warrington Council for Voluntary Service, issues grants to local voluntary and community groups and the business group has pledged to raise funds by participating in a variety of events over the next 12 months.
Lloyd said: “We also have the added incentive of getting involved in knowing that every pound we raise can be match-funded by the government and it isn’t very often the government gives money away.”
