Boy robbed of bicycle

A 12-year-old boy has been robbed of his bicycle in an incident at Warrington.
The youngster was riding the machine along Cromwell Avenue, close to the Westbrook Centre, when he was approached by a man on a scruffy looking purple mountain bike who demanded he hand over his bike.
He was dragged off his bike into some bushes and his attacker then grabbed the bike and rode off on one machine, holding onto the other. He was last seen going into a field near the Asda store.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident on Sunday, August 2 at about 1.30pm. They say the theft took place in a busy area and many people may have seen something.
Anyone who can held is asked to call DC Rebecca Dixon on 01244 614890.
The offender is described as having black, short, wavy hair. He was about 5ft 8 inches tall and slim and was wearing a black top, blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

  1. Reading things like this really make my blood boil.

How can anyone be so low and callous as to steel a bike from a child in broad daylight. To also subject a child to the fear of being dragged into bushes by a complete stranger makes me say that the culprit, if he is ever found, should be named, shamed, photos released and locked up for a very long time !!!!!!!

Absolute SCUM !!! Maybe his friends or family will notice him with a ‘newer’ bike or the people he may try to sell it on to will put two and two together and report him to the police.

PS maybe a detailed description of the poor lads bike wouldn’t go a miss either so people know what they are looking out for.

PPS Isn’t this the second time that a bike has been reported as stolen in Warrington by another ‘seemingly safe’ approaching cyclist !!!!!
