Policewoman injured in attack

A MAN has been arrested at Warrington after an attack on a policewoman which left her in hospital.
The attack took place in the early hours of the morning as police officers tried to control a disturbance in Longshaw Street, Warrington.
The woman officer attempted to restrain a man who kicked out at her, striking her on the knee and causing an injury which required hospital treatment.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later bailed until August 26.
But police are trying to trace a second man who was seen running off in the direction of Molyneux Avenue.
He was about 5ft 10 inches tall, of stocky build and was in his mid-20s. He had closely cropped hair and had a small scar on his left cheek. He was wearing dark coloured shorts and a tracksuit top.
