Blaze at chemical works in Warrington

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a chemical works at Warrington this morning.
The blaze was at the Perstorp plant in Baronet Road, shortly after 7.30am.
Smoke was reported coming from machinery and the fire is believed to have been caused by friction from a jammed conveyor belt in a sacking machine.
It was out when a crew from Warrington Fire Station reached the scene but the machine was still smouldering.
Firefighters isolated the electricity supply to the conveyor belt and made sure the machine was safe. They were at the scene for about 25 minutes. There were no reports on injuries
