Cadets bid to raise profile

0

WARRINGTON based Cheshire cadets are looking to recruit new members and raise their profile in the town.
The group held a summer fete at Bennett’s Recreational Ground, Padgate, when special guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Coun Brian and Irina Axcell.
Formed in 1994 Cheshire Cadets are a non-profit making organisation which aims include keeping young people off the streets, while at the same time giving them something constructive to do.
As well as improving their profile the band is trying to raise money to get a seven and a half ton Layland Daf van fixed. The van is essential, as the band travels far and wide over the country to competitions including Leeds, Nottingham and Bristol to name a few!
The van is used to transport all the musical equipment, which includes full drum kits,20 Brass instruments and xylophones.
For more information on joining the band or helping with sponsorship visit www.chesirecadets.org or call 01925 469624 (4-6pm).
