Arson attack on nursery

VANDALS set fire to children’s play equipment at a disused nursery at Warrington last night (Thursday).
The blaze was at the former Fledglings nursery in Guardian Street – close to the rear entrance to Warrington Hospital.
Intruders set fire to plastic slides and other play equipment on a patio area at the rear of the building and the flames spread to the interior, causing extensive damage.
Fire crews tackled the blaze with hosereels and cleared smoke from the building with a ventilation unit.
Police are investigating.
