Lib Dems select candidate for Penketh and Cuerdley by-election

WARRINGTON Liberal Democrats have selected former St Helens Cllr. Dave Crowther to stand for the Borough Council election in Penketh and Cuerdley.

The election is taking place because of the sad death of Cllr Allin Dirir.

Dave moved to Warrington a few years ago from Newton-le-Willows because all his family live here. He has a great deal of experience as a councillor having served for many years on St Helens Council. He was also recently selected to stand as the Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington North.

He took early retirement after a career in British Gas. He is a former Chairman of Governors at a Special School and is currently Chairman of a Community Centre Board. Dave enjoys watching sport and for five years was Secretary of the Warrington Sunday Football League.

Dave says, “I believe the people of Penketh have been let down by Labour Councillors who have become complacent and have forgotten they are elected to make your lives better. Penketh needs a change, more energy, more ideas, and I believe I can be the start of it.”
