Ground breaking business research

TEN years of business research activity, involving ground-breaking work by university staff, has been showcased at Warrington.
The Research Colloquium, held at the Padgate campus of Chester University, focussed on a wide range of work, from research into the business management practices in the English professional football industry to that into the financial markets and academic theories.
Attracting delegates from across the North West, the Colloquium included a keynote presentation from Ossie Jones, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Liverpool Management School.
Caroline Rowland, Professor in Leadership Management and Sub Dean of the Faculty of Business, Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, who organised the event, said: “We are establishing a growing research culture at the University of Chester, both theoretical and applied, so we can help the local business community.
“We have a long tradition at Chester Business School of quality provision, with most of our staff engaged in research activity. This was an excellent way to recognise the first-rate work which has already been carried out and the pioneering thinking behind current research.”
