FIVE of Warrington Athletic Club’s younger athletes took part in the Trafford Athletic Club Open Medal Meeting at Longford Stadium Trafford.
In the under 13 age group Amelia Smithers finished in second place in her 70 metres hurdles race in a personal best time of 13.08 seconds. In the Boys race over 75 metres hurdles Corey Beechall was third in his race in 14.13 seconds.
Corey also finished second in the High jump with an equal personal best height of 1.30 metres and was eighth in the Long jump with a leap of 3.67 metres.
In the throws events Zak Chamun was fourth in the Discus with 12.32 metres, sixth in the Javelin with 19.09 metres and seventh in the Shot with 4.82 metres.
In the Girls 75 and 150 metres Laura Armstrong was sixth in her races with times of 12.23 seconds and 24.67 seconds respectively.
In the under 15 girls events Lisa Halliday finished third in her race over 75 metres hurdles with a time of 14.46 seconds while in the 800 metres Jasmine Jones finished in eighth place in her race running a new personal best time of 3 minutes 01.17 seconds. In the Discus Olivia Chamun finished in seventh place throwing a personal best of 14.40 metres and was also seventhh in the Shot with 7.39 metres and eleventh in the Javelin with 20.31 metres.
