Hospital lottery

WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 4, 8, 9 and 15. The jackpot prize went unclaimed and will be rolled over to next week. A £25 consolation prize was won by a member of hospital staff.

Road race
More than 100 runners are expected to take part in the fifth annual Burtonwood Bridge five mile road race tomorrow (Saturday). The race starts at 4pm and will be followed by two mile fun run. Further details are available from the website www.burtonwoodbridgerlfc

It’s a Knockout
THE Shannon Bradshaw Trust is organising an “It’s a Knockout” at Victoria Park on Sunday August 30. Teams of 8-10 are invited to take part for an entry fee of £500 and there will be fairground rides, beer tent, tombola, vintage cars, etc. Details are available from the charity on 01925 471170.

Plant sale
LONG Lane Garden Centre, Warrington – part of the Walton Lea Project charity – is holding a plant sale all next week to make room for new stock. The centre will be open 9am to 4pm weekdays and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

Scarecrow day
BIRCHWOOD Youth Club is holding a special scarecrow making day on August 9, between 12 noon and 4pm to raise funds for the club. There will be refreshments, including strawberries and cream. Details are available from Barnadette Bell on 01925 856680.
