Web tips on beating the credit crunch

TIPS on saving money, claiming benefits and how to find work, feature on a new Warrington “credit crunch” website.
The Warrington Borough Council site features four main sections aimed at families, businesses, the redundant and unemployed and the elderly and vulnerable.
It also includes information about benefit and tax credit entitlements, childcare support and business rates. It includes incentives for businesses to employ local unemployed people and advice about what to do after redundancy.
A credit crunch “toolkit” is available including a personal budget planner, information on free and low cost family days out and how going green can save money.
Ian Marks, leader of the council, said: “This new website is a great resource for people to use to find out information, get some good ideas about how to save money and find out how they can entertain their family without having to spend a great deal.
“The current economic climate has made things more difficult and the council and its partners are working hard to help people cope with a whole range of issues including redundancy, fewer job vacancies and financial difficulties.”
