A 23-year-old singer from Warrington is set to take to the high seas in the next big break of his career – aboard a cruise liner.
Daniel Halliwell will be singing aboard Marella Cruises’ “Celebration” – part of the third largest fleet of cruise ships in the UK.
Daniel was recruited by Yorkshire based Peel Entertainment in April, following hotly contested nationwide auditions. He has just completed an intensive 10 weeks of rehearsals.
Marella Cruises Entertainment, famous for its West End style shows, has helped to launch many young people’s careers in the entertainment industry, not least Cleopatra Joseph and Joseph Fletcher, who both are currently starring in West End productions.
The full onboard entertainment team, comprising 10 accomplished singers and dancers drawn from all quarters of the British Isles, are now performance ready.
Daniel said: “I have dreamt about being a singer since I was a child, and have been working toward this moment for years, so I am incredibly excited about the opportunity. The whole process has been really enjoyable, from the initial auditions in Manchester to the last 10 weeks where myself and the team have literally lived, worked and played together 24/7. It’s been very demanding but I have enjoyed every minute and can’t wait to become part of the Marella Cruises team!”
Daniel who studied at Priestley College and Blackpool and Flyde College, performs several solos within Celebration’s diverse repertoire of shows.
