PRIME Minister Gordon Brown will be interviewed on Warrington charity radio station Newlove 87.7 FM today (Monday).
The station is broadcasting to the town for two weeks, ending on Sunday (July 12) and is the brainchail of Newlove Warrington, the charity set up by Helen Newlove following the murder of her husband Garry.
Conservative leader David Cameron has already been interviewed on the station, set up after months of preparation by the Newlove family – Helen and daughters Zoe, Amy and Danielle -and volunteers. More than 100 celebrities attended a launch party in Golden Square.
Celebrities making appearances include pop impresario and rail enthusiast Peter Waterman and TV’s Ricky Tomlinson.
Helen Newlove said: “We launched the charity late last year with the aim to make a real difference by speaking directly to the local youth community. Music inspires, communicates and motivates and we identified it as the most effective route to reach young people.
“We never expected to progress this initiative so quickly and receive such strong national support!”
The radio aims to support the main objectives of Newlove Warrington, which include offering opportunities to inspire and interact with young people in the region. The programming of the station has been developed and supported by local students and local youth groups are co-hosting several of the shows.
Newlove FM is also offering young people and budding DJ’s a chance to broadcast and after its brief, two-week life, its portable radio equipment will be incorporated by the charity into a dedicated education programme in schools and colleges.

  1. first we had Kerry….. then we had George….. and now we have the Newlove clan. Celebrity is aspired to and achieved by so many different types of people these days.

Maybe they could ask the PM why he won’t bring back capital punishment and get rid of some of the scum that are plaguing this country. They are quite happy to keep an old train robber in jail for longer than they kept little Jamie Bulgers murderers in for…. There is no justice in this country for murder victim families

  2. I have temporarily tuned my car radio into Newlove Fm (although it does keep cracking and loosing it’s signal which is a bit frustrating and a shame as they only have two weeks air time). It’s quite good actually for a novice radio station 🙂

Anyway that aside….. I heard part of the Gordon Brown inerview at 3.30 ish today and not only did he mumble so quetly that his comments were very hard to hear but he also kept drawing such HUGE gasps of air as he spoke that it got so bloodly annoying that we turned off. Guess thats what he does when he repositions his jaw every few minutes but thankfully we don’t HEAR it on the TV !!

No disrespect meant to NewloveFM by the way……. but is there an edited version of his chat anywhere 🙂
