Power failure puts traffic lights out of action

POLICE at Warrington this morning issued a warning to motorists heading into the town centre that some traffic lights may not be operating.
A power cut or surge – it is not clear which – has apparently disabled some traffic lights.
Drivers were advised to show caution at traffic light controlled junctions.
The borough council has been informed and are working to resolve the issue
