Industrial waste goes up in flames

A LARGE quantity of industrial waste was involved in a fire at Appleton, Warrington last night.
Firefighters from Lymm went to the scene in Lyncastle Road following report of a fire and found it involved a large quantity of industrial waste in an area of about five metres by 10 metres.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames in an operation which last about 45 minutes.
A crew from Lymm was also sent to Southworth Lane, Croft, to deal with a grass fire. They used a water back pack to tackle the outbreak.

  1. Our wonderful fire service are certainly having a tough time at the moment with all the fires everywhere and their resources must be being stretched to breaking point. I believe they also had some fires along the Manchester ship canal near Thelwall to deal with too on Thursday night.
