WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid organised round the table talks with key partners to discuss the issues facing homeless provision in the town.

Faisal invited Chief Council Officers including Chief exectuive Steven Broomhead,  Cllr Maureen McLaughlin and the team behind Room at the Inn (RATI) to discuss the future of Homeless Provision.

Warrington Borough Council is currently in the process of reviewing all commissioned services within the Borough. The meeting was initiated by Faisal , in his local Constituency Office, to facilitate a discussion to look at the overall future provision.

There was a unanimous agreement between all parties that further discussion was needed.

Future meetings have been agreed to ensure representations and concerns from all parties are heard with a view to finding the best possible solutions to support the most vulnerable in our Borough.

After the meeting, Faisal said: “I am very pleased to have been able to bring together Council Officers and the team behind RATI in my office this week, and I am very pleased that constructive conversations were held between all the parties present in a friendly environment. However homelessness is a serious issue in Warrington and across the UK.

“It is vital that various interest groups continue to work together to tackle the root causes of homelessness and support vulnerable people and prevent the numbers of rough sleepers increasing. I look forward to seeing the progress in future meetings.”
