Witnesses sought after lorry crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses of a road accident in Warrington in which an eight year-old boy was in collision with a heavy lorry.
The youngster was taken to hospital in Warrington with serious head injuries but was later transferred to Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, where his condition was said to be “stable.”
The accident was in Knutsford Road, Latchford yesterday (Tuesday) and caused major traffic congestion when police closed the road between St Mary’s Street and the Black Bear pub.
The boy – who police originally said was aged six – is believed to have been crossing the road when he was in collision with the lorry which was driven by a 59-year-old man, who was unhurt.
