Flats smokelogged after car fire at Latchford

THREE flats were affected by smoke after fire broke out involving a car parked up against an apartment block at Warrington.
Firefighters from Warrington and Stockton Heath were called to the blaze at Clearwater Quays, Latchford. yesterday.
One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire but crews also carried out a thorough investigation in the building, using a thermal imaging camera to search for hot spots.
Three flats were affected by smoke and an adjoining bin compound was also affected. Fire crews also checked the bin area for signs of fire.
In another incident, fire crews attended a two vehicle crash on the A558 at Daresbury. They had to remove the doors from one vehicle to release a women trapped inside. She was handed over to the care of paramedics.
Vandals are believed to have started a fire involving bushes in Victoria Park, Warrington.
Firefighter used a hose reel jet to put out the flames. They appealed for information about how the fire was started. Information can be given on 101 or via the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline 0800 555 111.
