YOUNGSTERS in Warrington are being invited to dress one of the famous Antony Gormley statues on Crosby beach, Merseyside.
The invitation is made by Warrington Ramblers Association, which is running a series of walks aimed at families with primary school aged children.
All the walks are led by an experienced leader, who will share their knowledge about the local area. Walks will be at the children’s pace and they will have the chance to meet new friends.
The first walk is on Sunday August 9 on Crosby beach among the 100 life-sized statues. There will be a competition to dress a statue, and youngsters are asked to bring old clothes for the statues.
The 5.4 mile walk starts at 10am from Marine Lake car park at Crosby, and finishes at about 2pm. People are advised to take a picnic lunch and drinks and warned that there are no toilets on the walk.
Other walks planned are – Luds Church, Danebridge, near Congleton on Sunday September 6 and Darwen Tower, Darwen, near Bolton on Saturday September 19.
