Flying the flag for the Armed Forces

WARRINGTON – in common with many other towns – will be flying the flag for the first Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 27.
A special event will be held at Alford Hall, Manchester Road – organised by local Gulf War veteran David Morrison and attended by the Mayor and Mayoress, Coun and Mrs Brian Axcell.
There will be stalls, face painting, bouncy castle and live entertainment from midday until late.
The event will be in aid of the National Gulf Veterans’ and Families Association – the only charity for Gulf War veterans.
On the same day, there will be a display of military vehicles and an army recruitment stand in the town centre as part of a classic car show happening that day.
Armed Forces Day flags will be flown from the Town Hall and at Alford Hall from Monday, June 22.
Tickets for the fun day at Alford Hall cost £3 in advance or £4 on the door.
More details are available from David Morrison on 01925 637474 or 07931 727255 or email [email protected]
