A WARRINGTON woman returned home to find a burglar in her bedroom.
The intruder fled – but snatched her handbag, containing cards, a cheque book and cash, according to police.
They today appealed for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Twiss Green Lane area of Culcheth on the afternoon of Saturday, June 4.
The woman, in her 60s, arrived home shortly after 1pm and went to her bedroom where she was confronted by the man.
He ran out through the back of the house, snatching the black leather handbag as he passed through the kitchen.
He is described as aged 18-19, about 5ft 9 inches tall of average build. He was wearing an unzipped jacket, possibly gloves and trainers and was also wearing sunglasses and a woolly, beanie-style hat. He was clean shaven and had a plump face.
Anyone who can help police is asked to call DC Anna Last on 0845 458 0000 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
