DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to a knifepoint robbery on a vulnerable man and a mother pushing her baby in a pram at Orford, Warrington.

The incident happened in an alleyway between Lee Court and Sandy Lane at 12.50pm on Thursday 26 April.

The victim – a 33-year-old woman – was walking with her baby and her brother when she was pushed from behind, which knocked over the pram.

The offender then threatened the woman with a knife and demanded their phones, money and jewellery.

The offender then fled on foot towards Small Avenue.

The man is described as having a scouse accent, approximately 6ft, mixed race with a large mole to the left side of his face.

Detective Constable Carl Davis said: “This is a disgusting incident where a man has attacked a mother with her baby. Fortunately, they were not injured but the mother was left extremely upset and shaken by what happened. We want to catch the person responsible and are appealing for any information the public may have.

“If you have seen anything in the area which was unusual at that time then please call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 46832 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
