Businessman arrested in woodland

POLICE searching for fugitive businessman Ian Griffin, wanted in connection with the death of his girl friend, in Paris, have arrested a 39-year-old man in woodland at Chelford, near Knutsford.
The man, who is believed to be Griffin, appeared to have been living rough in a tent.
Cheshire Police are now liaising with French police.
The search for Griffin centred on Warrington over the weekend after his black Porsche 911 was discovered outside a house in the borough. His parents live at Houghton Green.
Griffin’s girl friend of some three years, Polish-born businesswoman Kinga Legg, aged 36, was found beaten to death at a luxury hotel in Paris a week ago today.
Griffin, aged 39, is known to have visited Ms Legg at the hotel in

Paris and to have been seen driving away later, in the Porsche.
Police have interviewed a number of people in the Warrington area who are associated with Griffin.
His parents claim they have had no contact with their son for several years.
