MOVIEMAKER Derek Belton gave a show of films he had entered into various competitions to mark the end of his term of office as chairman of Warrington Cine and Video Society.
The show was at the society’s annual meeting when Derek handed over to Peter Trengove, who will be chairman for two years.
Peter’s first night as chairman opened with a member’s Movie Night, which was a success despite a few technical problems.
New committee members are James Walton, in charge of competitions and festivals, and David Cooper, responsible for setting up the programme for the society.
Production for this year’s workshops has started and groups will make films based on a title, genre, and a line of dialogue.
Members heard that last year’s North vs South entry, Nomad Soul, had been entered in other competitions around the country and had been well received. It can now be seen on YouTube on www.youtube.com/mycamstudionetwork.
The club meets every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 8pm to 10pm at the Silver Band Hall, Loushers Lane, Warrington. Further information is available by calling 01925 480822 or visiting www.wcvs.net
