Pupils' taste for adventure

0

PUPILS from a Warrington school have developed a taste for adventure and are organising a curry night to help raise funds to work in one of the world’s poorest communities.
Youngsters from Penketh High School, Warrington, are joining the World Challenge expedition to Namibia in July next year and to take part, they each have to individually raise £3,600.
As part of their fund raising activities they have organised a Curry & Quiz Night at The Cottage Indian Restaurant on June 8, to help raise funds for their expedition.
Whilst in Namibia, the students will work in some of the poorest communities on projects such as helping to build a school or with environmental works.
They will also take part in teaching the local children English and simple games.
Equipped with just a tent, rucksack and minimal personal belongings, the group will liaise with the locals to trek, bus or tractor to their community destination.
Tickets are still available for the curry & quiz evening, which is hoped will be a lot of fun and a huge success.
The format of the evening will be a quality Indian buffet followed by a quiz and a raffle with prizes that include:
2-hour professional photography session (“Family Fun Shoot”) to include two 10″ x 8″ mounted prints (courtesy of Heesom Photography), a Segway Tour for two people around the Lake District (courtesy of Lakeland Segway), Full colour and cut/style make-over up to the value of £150 (courtesy of Johnsons Hairdressing, Sankey Street) Meal for two people (courtesy of Bella Roma Italian restaurant), meal and drinks voucher to the value of £50 (courtesy of Dessii Indian Restaurant), Gym Memberships (courtesy of Exclusive Fitness) £20 gift voucher
