Unsung heroes rewarded

UNSUNG heroes of Warrington Borough Council were recognised at the annual staff awards ceremony.
Winners were announced in eight categories at the ceremony at the Parr Hall.
Employee of the year was town centre warden Martyn Fox.
Other winners were: Investing in our community award: Paul Flannery, Fit Kidz, Positive Futures worker for the Arts & Sports Engagement Team (ASET), sponsored by warrington-worldwide.
Team of the year: Look of the Borough maintenance team.
Aiming to be outstanding: Peter Cookson-Dean, ranger at Walton Hall Zoo.
Investing in our people: Environmental management division.
Customer service: School ICT support team.
Eco champion: Kevin Normansell, home energy conservation officer and Carole Houghton, project support officer.
Dignity and respect: Green Lane School for their assisted transport scheme.
Alan Storton, assistant town centre manager, who nominated winner Martyn Fox said: “I am pleased and proud that Martyn won. I nominated him because he is good at his job, but also because it is important that we all recognise and reward dedicated, resourceful, front line service provision.”
