Bins hazard for blind couple

BINS left on a Stockton Heath footpath are causing problems for a partially-sighted couple – and mean their guide dogs lead them into the road.
Coun Dorothy Robb told Stockton Heath Parish Council that after bins are emptied on the corner of Walton Road and Whitefield Road, they are left on the pavement by binmen.
She said this caused problems for the couple as their dogs, avoiding the obstruction, led them into the road.
“This young couple walk down the road a couple of times a day, and it is horrible to see the dogs leading them into the road,” she said.
Members agreed to write to the borough council to ask for the bins in the area not to be left on the pavement.
