WORKFORCE training in the science, engineering and manufacturing sectors will help firms beat the recession, a seminar will be told at Warrington.
Delivering the right training is essential if organisations are to overcome the challenging economic times.
The seminar will be hosted by the Warrington Campus of Chester University on Wednesday, May 13, to highlight how the university and Semta – the skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies – can deliver higher level qualifications and training in the workplace.
Angela Lupton, employer curriculum development officer, said: “The science, engineering and manufacturing sectors are hugely important to the UK economy. The seminar will offer employers an opportunity to find out how we can deliver flexible, work-based learning programmes to support the growth of an organisation.
“Although we are in a recession, training is central to ensure an organisation’s future success. We will also explain how organisations can access funding to maximise performance through skills investment.
“There are many training routes which organisations can take, including Train to Gain, accredited in-house training, foundation degrees, professional certificates and other higher education programmes. We can work together with organisations to understand their skill needs and improve their performance.”
The seminar is free but places need to be booked in advance. Anyone who would like further information or to book a place can email [email protected], or call 01244 512194.
