WARRINGTON Schoolboys’ Under 15s soccer team have reached the final of the English Schools FA Inter-Association Trophy.
It is the first time a Warrington side has appeared in the final of this competition and the first time since 1948 that a team from Cheshire has appeared.
They play Stockport at Stockport County’s ground on Monday, May 11.
Both finalists had to travel to London to get through tough semi-finals – a magnificent achievement for both teams.
Stockport are expected to have some 3,000 supporters so Warrington are hoping local fans will make the journey to Stockport for the game, which kicks off at 7pm. Entry is £3, or £1 for children.
The Warrington side is made up of pupils from Great Sankey, Penketh High, St Gregory’s, Bridgewater, Culcheth and Beamont high schools.
They are also in the semi-finals of the Cheshire Trophy and the North West County Cup.
