A CONCERT is to be given at Lymm Baptist Church on July 4 by an internationally known gospel choir,
The Liverpool-based Love and Joy Gospel Choir will be appearing as part of the Lymm Festival.
Formed in 1987, under the directorship of Dr Tani Omideyi, the vibrant, multi-racial choir is based at the Temple of Praise in Liverpool.
It has appeared on numerous television shows, including Songs of Praise and has recorded a number of CDs. It has for many years been at the forefront of building relationships with communities locally and around the United Kingdom.
Venues where the choir have performed include cathedrals, churches, stadia, St. Michael’s Cave in Gibraltar and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The events have been as varied as gospel meetings, weddings, major corporate events, the memorial service for Princes Diana at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and the Summer Pops Festival at Liverpool’s Albert Dock.
The choir was heavily involved in Liverpool’s Capital of Culture bid, wrote the music for its theme song “We’ve got the go”, and performed it in the House of Commons.
