FORMER Warrington and Great Britain international Stuart Reardon has walked free from court after being given a 12 week suspended prison sentence after admitting assaulting his estranged wife.
But he had little to celebrate after being released by his new club Hull FC after just 11 days.
He has been released without playing for his new club following a failed medical.
His contract had been terminated by the Wolves who have made no comment on their reasons for releasing him.
Reardon, 27, has not played for nearly a year after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Warrington’s Challenge Cup defeat by St Helens last May.
Hull chief executive James Rule explained they could not retain a player who had failed a rigorous medical examination.
Reardon had been included in Hull’s initial 19-man squad for their Easter Monday game at St Helens, but he leaves without having played a game.
Reardon is due before Bradford’s magistrates court, alongside St Helens stand-off Leon Pryce – for sentencing after pleading guilty last month to assaulting his estranged wife Kay.
Meanwhile Reardon and his former Bradford and Great Britain team mate Leon Pryce walked free from court today after they were sentenced for assault.
Reardon, 27, was given a 12-week suspended sentence at Bradford Magistrates’ Court after earlier admitting assaulting his estranged wife Kay after discovering she was seeing another man.
Pryce, also 27, was ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting Mrs Reardon’s new partner in the same incident.
The court heard full-back Reardon, whose contract with Warrington Wolves had been terminated as a result of the incident, separated from his wife in February last year and began divorce proceedings in May.
