Amy will be Rose Queen

AN 11-year-old girl has been selected as Newchurch Parish Church Rose Queen.
Amy Kadodwala, a pupil at Bolton Girls’ School, will be crowned at a ceremony in church on Sunday, May 17.
There will also be a procession through the village, accompanied by Golborne Band.
Amy was one of the queen’s attendants last year and first took part in the ceremony five years ago.
She is very interested in music, plays the flute and is an enthusiastic member of the 1st Culcheth Guides.
Her attendants will be Charlotte Morris, Courtney Williamson and Emily and Molly Hogarth.
During the coming year, Amy will represent Newchurch at events such as Croft and Glazebury carnivals and the annual Christmas Tree festival.
