Clean-up session in park

A CLEAN-UP day is being organised at a Warrington park today (Thursday) as part of an initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Warrington Borough Council’s youth support service is holding the spring clean from Orford Park ranger hut between 10am and 3pm.
It is linked to a Friday evening project in the Orford Park and the Watkin Street areas, aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour. The team keep in regular contact with about 50 young people on a Friday evening in a bid to reduce binge and underage drinking.
They have a group of young people, aged 12 to 19, and use the hut as a meeting point to plan activities. Funding has been obtained from the neighbourhood board and is being used by the youngsters to redecorate the venue and for activities.
Project partners include Police, Golden Gates Housing, Integrated Youth Support Service, Warrington Wolves Foundation and the Fire Service.
