Car badly damaged in roadside fire

A CAR was badly damaged by fire on the A49 near Warrington last night.
Firefighters from Warrington were called to the scene on the Winwick Link Road shortly before 8.30pm and found a white saloon car well alight in a layby.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. There were no reports of injuries.
In an earlier incident, a fire engine from Warrington went to Thelwall Lane, Latchford, where an industrial bin was well alight at a works premises.
One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze and an investigation has been launched to establish the cause.
