TWENTY residents of Oughtrington – age range eight to 45 – are to climb a mountain to raise money charity.
The group will climb Mount Snowdon on Saturday, May 16 to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
They are looking for sponsorship to enable them to raise as much money as possible.
Organiser Louise Sandell decide to raise money for the charity after her father and her brother-in-law both suffered strokes.
She said: “The Stroke Association were marvellous and gave wonderful help on both occasions. I just felt I had to give something back.
“None of us are experienced climbers but I chose Snowdon because it is quite close to where my father lives.
“It is not just about raising money – I want to raise awareness of strokes and let people know just what a terrible condition they are.”
Anyone who wants to support the climb can visit www.justgiving.com/louisesandell or call her on 0795 181 4232.
