As the darker nights draw in…take care!

RESIDENTS of Warrington are being urged to be extra vigilant as the darker nights begin to draw in.
Police are urging people to double check their security measures before the clocks go back on October 29 and reminding them to be extra security conscious.
Often at this time of year there can be an increase in the number of burglaries reported to police and officers have some useful tips which can help prevent residents becoming a victim to thieves.
Superintendent Peter Crowcroft said: “As the clocks go back the nights become darker much earlier and this can often lead to an increase in burglaries. We don’t want anyone to fall victim of this invasive crime and so we are urging and reminding residents to follow these simple yet secure and effective steps which can help to reduce their chances of falling victim to thieves.”
Anyone who sees somebody acting suspiciously is asked to report it to the police immediately by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
