Car park to become pay and display

0

PAY and display parking will start on a heavily used car park from May 1.
The Pepper Street car park at Lymm will operate as a pay and display from Monday to Saturday but the first two hours will be free.
From two to four hours will cost £2.10 and for longer periods the charge will be £10.
There will be a restriction on returning to the car park within two hours of the maximum free stay of two hours.
Failure to display a valid ticket may result in penalty charges of £50 or £70 although these will be reduced by 50 per cent if payment is received within 14 days.
The car park currently has 63 spaces and a small recycling site, which is to be removed.
Object of the scheme is to provide short stay parking to assist local businesses and to prevent all-day commuter parking.
