WARRINGTON is set to host the first ever English half marathon which is being backed by sports shoe manufacturer New Balance, along with the North West Development Agency and the town’s borough council.
The brand new ambitious event – The People’s Challenge, takes place on Sunday October 4 at Centre Park, Warrington, alongside the New Balance European HQ – a first for England and a first for an international class brand with the stature of New Balance.
Joint organisers GB Event Management Ltd and Interloq Ltd plan to deliver an event that Warrington can be proud of. They’ve called it the People’s Challenge because they want everyone involved, including runners of all abilities – first timers, charity runners, club and elite.
The names of first 100 entrants to the inaugural English Half Marathon will go into a prize draw to win free running kit donated by the title sponsor.
The kit on offer will be won by 10 lucky winners who will be recipients of training shoes, shorts, vest and jacket.
The race is organised jointly by GB Event Management Ltd and Interloq Ltd who have between them over 25 years experience managing large running events throughout the United Kingdom.
Sponsors New Balance has a unique approach to running, offering runners shoes in both widths and half sizes, ensuring optimum fit. All New Balance shoes are designed with a range of technologies ensuring runners find the right shoe for their foot type and performance requirements. All of this is done in the UK, where New Balance has been manufacturing since 1982.
They also provide an extensive range of apparel, designed to meet specific training and running needs, for both winter and summer climates.
This race would not possible without the support of title sponsor, New Balance and main sponsors: North West Development Agency and Warrington Borough Council.
