Petrol bomb attack on house

A PETROL bomb was hurled at a house at Warrington in the early hours of today.
Police and fire crews were called to the incident in Poplars Avenue, Orford shortly before 4.30am.
The missile – a bottle filled with petrol – fell short of the house and the bottle failed to shattered.
But it was burning and firefighters cordoned off the area to allow it burn itself out.
A spokesman said: “The bottles appears to have fallen on some gravel between two cars and, by sheer luck, did not shatter.
“It was still alight but there was no explosion.”
No damage was caused to property and police were able to recover the bottle and its contents intact.
The incident is now under investigation.
