Vinnie drums up the rhythm

DRUM teacher Vinnie Pearson – a musician with 30 years’ experience – dropped in at a Warrington college to help students fine tune their skills.
He took students at Priestley College through a drum workshop based on rhythmic patterns and dynamics.
The major point of the visit was for the students themselves to analyse the lesson so they can deliver their own workshops to a range of outside organisations including community groups and schools.
Vinnie talked at some length during the workshop about the relationship between the nature of music and inner well being.
Priestley music tutor Mark Edgington said: “Our students were interested to learn all they could from Vinnie and so far have enjoyed passing on the knowledge gained to younger children.
“The community programme has proved extremely successful and we look forward to working on further links next year.”
