Row over taxi plan

A ROW has broken out over plans to convert offices above a wine bar into a base station for a taxi firm.
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council has lodged objections to the proposed change of use of offices above the Bacchus wine bar in Common Lane, Culcheth.
They are also opposing plans for a radio aerial at the rear of the property – and this has drawn objections from residents of Thompson Avenue, who question whether it will cause interference to radio and TV signals and wi-fi systems.
The application has been submitted by Bacchus Cars Ltd who say the taxi office would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved at a meeting of Warrington’s development control committee next week.
They dismiss fears of parking problems, impact on nearby homes and the possibility of taxis taking up spaces on nearby car parks.
