A CHURCH is holding its annual auction this Saturday – and for auctioneer Peter Caswell it will his 21st wielding the gavel.
Glazebury Methodist Church’s event starts at 1pm prompt with more than 200 lots on offer.
Church stalwart Peter – also a parish councillor – said: “This will be by 21st annual auction and some regulars have been to every one.
“A few don’t even bid for anything but come to groan at my well-worn jokes and finish my one-liners for me.
“Others even just come for the food but then stay long enough to bid for a few items and join in the fun.”
The auction is in aid of the church building fund and refreshments will be on sale, including home-made cakes to eat in or take home. There will be bargains for everyone from children to seniors.
