Environment Agency issue Mersey Estuary flood warning

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Mersey Estuary which could affect areas of Warrington during the early hours of Monday.

The areas which could be impacted due to an unusually high tide are Fiddlers Ferry, Eastford Road and Arpley Bridge, Warrington between 03:30 and 04:45 tomorrow morning.

Police are advising people stay away from the risk areas and to take care around locations adjacent to the Mersey Estuary.

The next high tide is expected to be higher than usual at 03:30 on 11/09/17 for the Mersey Estuary at Warrington. Flooding of low lying land is possible in the following places: Fiddlers Ferry between 03:30 and 04:15 Eastford Road between 03:45 and 04:30 Arpley Bridge between 04:00 and 04:45 It is possible that river levels may also affect Arpley Road under the railway bridge.
