Call centre staff raised £3,000

STAFF at the BT call centre at Warrington volunteered to take calls from around the country on Comic Relief night – after a day in which they raised about £3,000 themselves.
One money-raising activity was completing 10 laps around the huge, open-plan call centre.
Warrington North MP Helen Jones dropped in to offer her support as the pledges came in from the public between 6.30pm and 2am.
The MP said: “I was delighted to be asked to support the BT staff who, not only raised a lot of money for Comic Relief, but also gave their time to take calls from around the country. Without their dedication the whole event would be impossible to run.
“I know a lot of effort was put in by staff in their own time, to ensure the night was a success and their efforts were well
rewarded. As well as taking calls the volunteers had lots of fun and the atmosphere was fantastic.”
