WARRINGTON is one of the luckiest places in the country – according to the National Lottery.
The WA postcode ranks third nationally for big winners.
Since the lottery launched, an amazing 489 players in Warrington have banked a major cash prize – more than one winner every month.
Of these, an incredible 56 millionaires have been made – more than two every year.
Most recent big winners to have shared their good news were John and Patricia Gill who won £1M in December 2015 in the EuroMillions Mega Friday draw.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “The WA Warrington postcode, is an area which is clearly very lucky, with both multi million pound prize winners and lucky people banking prizes of several hundred thousand pounds.
“The National Lottery makes, on average, a new millionaire every day meaning there are big winners in every corner of the country. We are always ready to help celebrate and have plenty of champagne on ice.”
It isn’t just individuals winning big – the entire community benefits from the money raised by The National Lottery.
Among lottery funded projects in Warrington are: Lymm Heritage Information Centre, Golden Gates Housing Trust, Warrington Irish Club, Warrington Youth Club, Warrington Wolves Foundation and Warrington Olympic Weightlifting Club.
Each National Lottery player helps to raise over £30M every week for good causes.
This helps fund small projects in every local community as well as national projects such as our Olympians and Paralympians.
