VIDEO: RAIN failed to dampen spirits at the launch of the 10th annual VPX events at Warrington’s Victoria Park.

The brain child of local PCSO Tony Spruce and his former colleague Tom Reid, the free event will take place each Tuesday during August and caters for youngsters of all ages.

Mayor of Warrington Cllr Les Morgan was joined by Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane to officially launch the event.

Despite the rain, which eventually cleared, hundreds of youngsters were queuing to enter the event which was devised to help get them involved in healthy activities during the school holidays, keeping them off the streets and out of trouble.

It is supported by various community organisations including LiveWire, Active Cheshire and Cheshire Fire Brigade.

Under starters orders- the Mayor and Mayoress, with Gully Mouse, Tony Spruce, David Keane and Paul Flannery from LiveWire
