Hospital lottery
TWO winners shared the £1,740 jackpot prize in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital – each receiving £870. Winning numbers were 4, 6, 7 and 13. A £25 consolation prize was also paid out.

Parking objection
WARRINGTON’S traffic committee has received one objection to a proposal to ban parking in Dewhurst Road, Birchwood since a £1-a-day charge was introduced on the car park at the nearby shopping centre. The objector argued that the correct solution would be to provide proper parking facility at Birchwood Station.

Thunder Drummers

Farmer’s Market
CHARITY group The Walton Lea Project are holding a farmer’s market in the Heritage Yard, Walton Gardens, tomorrow (Sunday). Among the stalls will be a micro-brewery.

Wind power
TESCO are seeking planning consent for a wind turbine on the car park at the superstore in Winwick Road. The 10.6m high installation would help provide electricity for the store.

MEMBERS of Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council are pressing for improved street lighting in Sharon Park Close, Grappenhall.
