A MAN and a woman have been arrested after early morning raids on two houses at Warrington.
Police searched two properties in Gough Avenue, Longford and seized a number of items, believed to have been stolen. More than 10 officers were involved in the operation.
A 45-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested. The man was later charged with handling stolen goods and was bailed to appear before magistrates later this month. The woman was released without charge.
Sergeant Paul Flynn, of Warrington Central Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “We hope this sends out a strong message that we will not tolerate any sort of behaviour in Warrington that has a negative impact on the quality of life of residents.
“Criminal behaviour in any form is not acceptable and if you commit crime then we will do everything within our power to ensure you are caught and punished.
“We are committed to working with the local community and want to reassure residents that we will not hesitate to take positive action where necessary.”
He said intelligence passed on by members of the public was vital in the fight against crime and disorder in Warrington.
“We are working with the local community and representatives of partner agencies to tackle the issues that are affecting the quality of life of residents in the area.
“We would like to thank members of the public who have provided us with valuable information and we would like to reassure them that we will continue to act on any information we receive.
“The more information we have the better placed we are to devise ways and means of dealing with problems.”
